I graduated from University College Cork School of Medicine in 2016. Following my intern year in Cork, I undertook a PhD in Physiology under the mentorship of Dr. Susan Galandiuk in the Price Institute of Surgical Research at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. I started Core Surgical Training in Ireland in 2021. My research interests include biomarker identification, colorectal cancer metastasis, prehabilitation, and collaborative surgical research. Collaborative research is a cornerstone for advancing knowledge in surgery and it is important for Ireland to have strong presence in collaborative research. My goal for the ISRC would be to be able to run well-designed cohort studies and randomised clinical trials.
