I graduated from UCD in 2019. I am currently a first-year core surgical trainee in the Mater Hospital. Previously I have worked as a surgical tutor in the Mater and UCD. During this time, I gained a greater appreciation for surgical research and the benefits it can have for our patients. Joining the ISRC has led to working with some of the outstanding surgical trainees in the country and I hope with further collaborative work more trainees can have a similar experience. As an ISRC core trainee rep, I hope to encourage other trainees to become involved in collaborative research, so that we can produce effective, impactful research.
