I am currently a CST trainee pursuing general surgery. Prior to becoming an ISRC committee member, I gained a huge appreciation for the merits of collaborative research through my involvement in numerous collaborative projects in conjunction with STARSurg, EuroSurg and GlobalSurg, both as a student and surgical trainee.
Collaborative research serves as an excellent gateway to becoming actively involved in research, helping to remove some of the perceived daunting barriers associated with commencing and conducting research due to its collaborative and supportive nature. As a CST representative, I hope to promote the merits of collaborative research amongst fellow surgical trainees.
