I am an Orthopaedic Surgery trainee starting my Core Surgical Training in July at Tallaght University Hospital in Dublin. I graduated from RCSI in 2020 and have done elective sub-internships in several hospitals in the United States including Johns Hopkins university, University of North Carolina and others.
During my time in medical school, I held numerous teaching and leadership positions including president of the Sports Union at RCSI, Secretary of Biological Society, Academic Committee Officer of the Orthopaedic Surgery Society, Student lead of the USMLE Step 1 Program at RCSI, and Executive Committee Member of Emergency Society. I am very passionate about research and surgical education and will be starting a Masters of Surgical Education at Imperial later this year.
My research interests include Orthopaedic Sport Surgery, Foot and Ankle Surgery, and Orthopaedic Trauma. I am currently undertaking a Master of Surgery at the University of Galway with a thesis on elective hindfoot fusion surgery functional outcomes. I have published in international peer-reviewed journals and have presented posters both nationally and internationally.
I am delighted for the opportunity to serve as core surgical trainee rep on this years’ committee and hope to become more involved in surgical research in Ireland. Outside of medicine, I deeply enjoy sports, outdoor cycling, and I compete nationally in powerlifting
